Hi, I'm Jenny, owner and creator here at LynBeth Threadworks. I started sewing about twenty years ago when my mom taught me how to quilt. I started with quilts and moved on to home decor, embroidery and then bags. I've been married to my husband for nearly twenty-five years and he is the most supportive husband anyone could ask for. He is always willing to help in any way he can and has never even batted an eye at all of the new machines and tools I have purchased over the years. We have two beautiful daughters who have both graduated from high school and are now working towards their educational and career goals. In 2019, I retired from my job where I worked in probation and the criminal courts for twenty-one years. I retired so I could spend more time with my family while my daughters were still in high school and to pursue my dream of starting this business. Most days I feel busier now than I did while working full-time, but I absolutely love it! I set my own hours, I don't have to schedule vacations, and I get to create beautiful handbags for my customers. It is so satisfying to see a finished handbag and to know that I made it. All of the hard work is worth it when I see how excited a customer is when they receive their new bag, one they helped design from the style to the fabrics used right down to the hardware.
The most common non-bag related question I get is "Who is LynBeth?" or "Where did you get the name LynBeth?" The answer is simple - my daughters. Lyn represents my oldest daughter, Caitlyn. She is currently majoring in Classical Civilizations and Museum Studies. Her goal is to work in the collections department of a museum or as a curator. Beth represents my youngest daughter, Elyzabeth. She is currently attending school to become a licensed aesthetician. She would one day like to open her own medical spa and work in conjunction with a dermatologist. Along with my husband, my daughters are my biggest cheerleaders. From the beginning, they have encouraged me, inspired me and helped me in anyway they could.
